What are the new Texas property tax changes for disabled veterans?

As of 2012, 100% disabled veterans will not have to pay property taxes on his/her primary residence in Texas. The veteran must apply for this exemption with his local taxing authority and be verified as 100% disabled according to the Veterans’ Administration. This exemption only applies to the veteran’s primary residence starting in 2012. Property Tax Solutions can help the veteran with the property taxes on his/her commercial real estate, rental property, other taxable property or property taxes prior to 2012.
